Annual Conference

ASE Scotland organises (in partnership with SSERC) the annual Scottish Science Education Conference.

The 2010 Scottish Science Education Conference, "Science without Limits" will be held at Crieff Hydro Hotel, 4-5 March 2011.

"I'm enough of an artist to draw freely on my imagination, which I think is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." (Einstein, 1929)

 Science takes us and the citizens of tomorrow beyond imagination. From the big ideas to practical applications. Science takes us from the limits of the very small to the very big, be it from cells to the survival of species or quarks to galaxies.

Implementation of Curriculum for Excellence has begun and we are looking ahead to new national qualifications. The opportunities for us to take school science and our young scientists beyond perceived current limits are great.

 · Science without limits of subject knowledge - linking beyond the subject and incorporating opportunities for interdisciplinary work

· Science without limits - including numeracy and literacy

· Science without limits - through context and skills.

Science is for all. All ages. All abilities. It is about young people being challenged and recognising they can go beyond their limits.

The 2011 Scottish Science Education Conference aspires to support and enhance teaching and learning in science. The conference experience, regarded as high quality CPD, will offer you a wealth of advice, knowledge and inspiration to enrich your classrooms.
